Kia ora koutou,

My name is Mark. I’m a 32-year-old ecologist and PhD student working with UC, Ngai Tahu, and Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research. I’ve been unhappy with the crowded and often messy flats I’ve found on trademe. Looking for a friendly and tidy home to live in as a guest beginning in late January or early February of next year. Ideally this would turn into something fairly long term if we get along well (1+ years; I plan to graduate in 2021). When I’m not working, I like travel (most recently to Yogyakarta), hiking, photography, reading, retro movies, the gym, and craft beer. Would love to live in a place where I can become friends with the home owner(s) but also have the space to relax and be independent.

Unfortunately my PhD stipend is very modest, so I cannot afford to spend more than $160-180 pw on rent (including utilities). I enjoy cooking, so I'm happy to prepare my own meals, but definitely keen on occasional shared meals as friends. I have a traditional futon mattress that can go on the floor or be stored, plus a bedside table. I'd prefer to live near uni but open to other options. Please feel free to contact me with a bit about yourself. Looking forward to chatting!

Nga mihi,
